Police investigating bank robbery

A man walked into the Capital One Bank on College Drive on Thursday afternoon, handed the bank teller a note demanding money, then showed the teller a gun before taking money and running off, according to Baton Rouge police.

The man walked into the bank at 1:53 p.m. and left in an unknown direction on College Drive.

He is described as a black man, late 40s to early 50s, skinny to medium build. The man was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, black frame glasses and a purple knit cap.

Authorities book four on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked then into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

Stephanie Barnard, 31, 4155 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle.

Richard Bergeron, 45, 10303 Springdale Ave., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and improper lane usage.

Trey Roberts, 25, 1925 Stafford Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, suspended/revoked driver’s license, reckless operation of a vehicle, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle upon a peace officer, resisting an officer and simple assault.

Cassandra Thomas, 35, 5934 Hagerstown Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and reckless operation of a vehicle.
