Man sought in armed robbery of Gonzales auto parts store

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in identifying a man who robbed the Advanced Auto Parts store, 12518 La. 44, Gonzales, on Saturday night.

Shortly after 8 p.m., a black man with a limp favoring his right side and a “fade” haircut longer at the top held up the store with a dark cover over his mouth and nose and a black revolver in his right hand, according to Lt. Col. Bobby Webre.

The man wore a dark, short-sleeved shirt with red around the collar over a gray long-sleeved shirt, baggy pants faded in the front, and dark-colored shoes, Webre said in a news release.

The man demanded money from the clerk and, after receiving an undisclosed amount, left walking onto Cannon Road toward Roddy Road, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office at (225) 621-4636, text the anonymous text line at 847411 or call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
