Lafayette’s extended Mardi Gras weekend kicks off Friday

Lafayette’s extended Mardi Gras weekend begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday when the Kick Off Parade rolls from downtown to Cajun Field.

Two more parades are scheduled for Saturday — The Children’s Parade at 12:30 p.m. and the Krewe of Bonaparte at 6:30 p.m.

Parades continue at 6 p.m. Monday, when Queen Evangeline’s Parade rolls.

Three parades are scheduled for Tuesday in Lafayette, starting with King Gabriel’s Parade at 10 a.m., followed by the Lafayette Mardi Gras Festival Parade at 1 p.m. and the Fox 15 Independent Parade at 2 p.m.

Mardi Gras events and family activities will also be held all day at the King’s Court in Parc Sans Souci downtown and at The Mardi Gras Show at Clark Field.
