Advocate staff report June 16, 2014 Comments LAFAYETTE — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Krewe of Roux parade will roll at 4 p.m. Thursday, beginning on Rex Street, winding through campus and ending at Vermilion Hall on Hebrard Boulevard. The 25-year custom is a staple of the university’s Mardi Gras celebrations, where the student and faculty organizations can ride or walk through campus. There will be a Mardi Gras celebration immediately after the parade under the Vermilion Hall Breezeway with refreshments and music. Glass containers and alcohol are prohibited for both events.
