DUTCHTOWN — Ascension sheriff’s deputies are looking for a gold four-door Nissan car seen leaving the scene of a bank robbery early Wednesday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Bobby Webre, chief of criminal operations for the sheriff’s office, said an armed man robbed the Red River Bank at the intersection of La. 74 and La. 73 at 1:10 p.m.
Deputies initially ordered a lockdown of Dutchtown Elementary, Middle and High schools because they thought the robber fled on foot. But, investigators lifted the lockdown 20 minutes later after learning the robber fled in a car, Webre said.
He said investigators believe there may be a second person involved who was driving the car.
There are no reports of any injuries.
