Lafayette diocese to honor nearly 100 at annual MLK Jr. Mass

Nearly 100 people will be honored at 7 p.m. Friday when the Diocese of Lafayette hosts its annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Mass and awards ceremony at St. John Cathedral in downtown Lafayette.

Diocese of Lafayette Bishop Michael Jarrell will preside over the program, which pays tribute to those who exemplify King’s traits.

The bishop will also serve as celebrant. Deacon Albert Marcel will serve as homilist.

The event is sponsored by the Diocese’s Office of Black Catholic Ministries.
