Speciality Plastics paid $2.275 million for the land next to its offices at 15915 Perkins Road, according to a transaction that was filed Monday with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s Office. Officials with Speciality Plastics said the land was purchased for a future expansion that could lead to more hiring. Specialty Plastics specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of fiberglass piping systems for the deep-water oil and gas industry. In 2013, the Future Pipe Industries Group bought the company from ITT Exelis for an undisclosed sum.
