Historic Lincoln Theater in BR to celebrate 65 years Historic Lincoln Theater in BR to celebrate 65 years Advocate staff report Jan. 13, 2014 Comments The historic Lincoln Theater plans to celebrate 65 years in operation with two upcoming events. The first event, Lincoln Theater 65th Anniversary Year Kick-Off Reception, will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 185 Eddie Robinson Sr. Drive. A viewing of the documentary “4-South: The First Black Nurses of Baton Rouge General Hospital” will be held, and artist Christopher Turner will unveil an original painting of the theater. The second event is a fundraiser dinner scheduled for 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Lod Cook Alumni Center, 3838 W. Lakeshore Drive.
