Adams and Reese partner Bill Shea has been named partner in charge of the law firm’s Baton Rouge office. Shea is also active in new associate recruiting and serves as the summer associate coordinator in Baton Rouge.

He is a member of the firm’s commercial disputes and casualty and coverage teams. He also maintains an insurance regulatory practice.

Richard Vlosky, director and professor of the Louisiana Forest Products Development Center at the LSU AgCenter, has been appointed to the Southern Bioenergy Working Group, a consortium of state and regional leaders that examines ways to promote sustainable biomass and bioenergy investments in the region. The group is coordinated by the 25x’25 Alliance and the Southeast Agriculture and Forestry Energy Resources Alliance.

The National Association of Independent Land Title Agents has elected David LeClere, of Alliance Title in Baton Rouge, as vice president and Patrick Miller, of Preferred Title in Baton Rouge, as treasurer.

Phelps Dunbar LLP has elected to partnership Brandon E. Davis and Pablo Gonzalez of New Orleans.

Davis practices law in the area of labor and employment, with a focus on employment litigation and immigration law.

Gonzalez practices in the area of insurance and reinsurance, including both first-party and third-party coverage disputes as well as extra-contractual claims for bad faith.

Katie Block has been named director of marketing and business development at Green Marine & Industrial Equipment Co.

Block was a sales trainer and senior account executive at ScentAir Technologies Inc.

Adrian Pappalardo has been elected president of the Gulf South Real Estate Information Network board of directors.

He was a director at the University of Phoenix, specializing in leadership development, process improvement and strategic leadership.


Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson LLP has named as partners Christopher D. Billings in the law firm’s Baton Rouge office and Joseph R. Hugg and Wesley M. Plaisance in the New Orleans office.

Billings practices in the area of casualty litigation, including personal injury defense, redhibition and product liability defense, general insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, insurance coverage disputes and class-action litigation.

Hugg’s practice is in the labor and employment section, focused primarily on managing the defense of employment discrimination and wage-and-hour lawsuits and administrative charges on behalf of local and national corporations, as well as advising management on employee relations and traditional labor law issues.

Plaisance practices in the commercial litigation section, handling business-related disputes including contract and lease litigation, unfair competition and trade practices, tax sale litigation, construction disputes, real estate-related litigation, partition proceedings and bankruptcy proceedings. He also has experience in gaming law.
