St. James Place owners acquire gated community

Country Club Place townhomes sold

Country Club Place, an upscale gated townhome development across from the Country Club of Louisiana, has been acquired by a company connected to the St. James Place retirement community.

Details of CCP Foundation’s purchase were not disclosed. CCP Foundation is a support organization for Spiritas Senior Services, which owns St. James.

Rev. Ken Ritter, president and CEO of Spiritas and CCP Foundation, said in a news release that the purpose of the acquisition is to further the nonprofit organization’s mission to provide service to others.

Ritter did not return a phone call for additional information.

“We seek to provide a unique and dynamic living experience at Country Club Place,” Ritter said in the news release. “St. James Place and Spiritas have been pioneers in service and high quality for more than 30 years, and this new venture at Country Club Place is just the next chapter in that proud tradition.”

Specific plans for Country Club Place are being evaluated. The development, which is located across Brentwood Drive from the Country Club of Louisiana, was planned with a maximum of 28 lots. Townhomes in the development sell for more than $1 million.

Ritter said any additions to Country Club Place will integrate with the existing townhomes on the property and would enhance the living experience and gated-community lifestyle.
