Body found inside trunk of car in Slidell

Slidell police on Sunday found the body of a young man in the trunk of a car apparently dumped in eastern St. Tammany Parish.

Detective Daniel Seuzeneau, a Slidell Police Department spokesman, said investigators believe the victim was killed in New Orleans.

It appeared the unidentified victim was shot to death, but an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

Seuzeneau said police were called about 8:30 a.m. Sunday to investigate a car that had blood on it on Teddy Avenue, between 9th and 10th streets, and discovered the body.

The car is registered in Orleans Parish, and Slidell police determined the victim was killed in the city, Seuzeneau said. He declined to say how that determination was made since the New Orleans Police Department will handle the investigation.

The NOPD on Monday evening declined to discuss the case.
