One killed, two injured in N.O. East shooting

One man was killed and two others were injured after gunfire erupted Tuesday night in the parking lot of a New Orleans East business.

The shooting happened about 7:30 p.m. in the 11900 block of Hayne Boulevard, said officer Garry Flot, a Police Department spokesman.

The three victims drove themselves to the hospital where one of them died. That victim, a 30-year-old man, was not immediately identified.

The other victims — ages 17 and 20 — had wounds that were not serious, Flot said.

Police did not immediately have any information on a suspect or motive.

Homicide detective Nicholas Williams is in charge of the investigation.
