Man shot in leg Friday on street in Algiers

A man was shot Friday evening in Algiers, according to New Orleans Police Department spokesman Frank Robertson.

Police were called at about 6 p.m. to the 2000 block of Socrates Street, where they found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg, Robertson said.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police seek man who stole voodoo doll

New Orleans police are searching for a man who stole a 4-foot-tall voodoo doll from outside a French Quarter business, according to a news release.

On Nov. 20, the man was observed via video surveillance swiping the doll from outside a business in the 600 block of Dumaine Street. He then fled in a gray vehicle.

Marrero gas station robbed Saturday

An armed robbery occurred early Saturday morning in Marrero, according to Jefferson Parish 911 headquarters.

The robbery was reported about 4 a.m. at a Shell station in the 4200 block of the West Bank Expressway. No further information was available.

Man stabbed Saturday morning in Harvey

A man was stabbed early Saturday morning in Harvey, according to Jefferson Parish 911 headquarters.

Deputies were called to the 3700 block of the West Bank Expressway about 2:30 a.m. and found the man with minor lacerations.
