Person of interest sought in recent attack
New Orleans police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who might have information about an attempted armed robbery last month in Hollygrove.
The man, who police said is not a suspect, was recorded by a surveillance camera, and police on Wednesday released an image of him.
The victim of the robbery was trying to chain up his bicycle in the 8700 block of South Claiborne Avenue about 10 a.m. on Nov. 17 when a man walked up to him, grabbed him by his collar and began to fight. The attacker implied he had a weapon, but the victim said he did not see one.
A second man walked up during the fight and sprayed something onto the victim and began to hit him, police said. The first man asked the victim for his keys, but both men then ran away on Eagle Street without any of the victim’s property.

Investigators seek men who robbed store
Investigators are searching for two men who robbed a Gentilly store at gunpoint late last month, making off with $15,000.
The men walked into the business in the 2400 block of Elysian Fields Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 27 and took a security guard’s gun, New Orleans police said.
One of the robbers pointed a pistol at the cashier and ordered her to open the door to her cage. The men took the cash and ran away on foot.
The first robber is described as a black man, 5-foot-11 and about 200 pounds. He wore a black mask, blue hoodie, dark jeans and blue sneakers, police said.
The second robber is described as a black man, also about 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds. He wore a black mask, black hoodie and black jeans during the robbery.

NOPD investigates woman’s rape report
New Orleans police are investigating the reported rape of a homeless woman.
The victim walked into Interim LSU Public Hospital about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday and said she had been raped at an unknown location by an unknown person.
Mandeville police seek three counterfeiters
Mandeville police are seeking three people who spent $1,100 in counterfeit $100 bills at three area retailers Tuesday.
The three passed five fake $100 bills at Victoria’s Secret, four at the Gap and two at Banana Republic. Detectives said the three then returned the merchandise at stores in Baton Rouge for full refunds.

Cyclist killed Monday identified as Fla. man
A bicyclist killed in an accident Monday night in St. Charles Parish has been identified as Patrick Dolan.
Dolan, 50, of Crystal River, Fla., was hit about 8 p.m. on U.S. 90 near Barton Avenue.
A Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Lydia Goellner, 50, of Thibodaux, was traveling west on U.S. 90 when Dolan crossed the highway and rode into her path. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
