Two men arrested in fatal stabbing at Convent bar

Two men remained in St. James Parish Jail on Tuesday after their arrests in a fatal stabbing at a Convent bar late last week, sheriff’s deputies said.

Kyriene L. Vallery, 22, 6268 Convent Station Lane, Convent, the man accused of stabbing the victim, was booked into parish jail on one count of second-degree murder and a parole violation, according to Sheriff Willy Martin Jr.

Martin said in a news release that Christian Allen, 25, of Paulina, was stabbed in the back shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday at the end of a large fight at Club 7002 on River Road in Convent.

Allen was taken to St. James Hospital in Lutcher where he died from his injuries, Martin said.

Vallery and a second man, Walter P. Scott III, 27, 9214 Central Project St., Convent, were arrested Friday, Martin said.

Scott was booked with a count of being a principal to second-degree murder and on an outstanding bench warrant, Martin said.

The case remains under investigation, authorities said.
