Teen found slain behind home in N.O. East
A teenage boy was found shot to death early Friday morning in New Orleans East, police said.
Officers were called about 8 a.m. to the 6900 block of Boston Drive, where they found the body of Courtney Moore, 17, in the backyard of an abandoned home, said Officer Hilal Williams, a Police Department spokeswoman.
Moore was shot multiple times and died on the scene, said John Gagliano, the Orleans Parish coroner’s chief investigator.
Police did not immediately have any information on a suspect or motive.

Plaquemines deputies book four sex offenders
The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested four men for failing to register as sex offenders. Douglas Baugh, Jesse Tabor, Danny Lee Davis and Arriel Eugene were all arrested last week, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
There are 42 active registered sex offenders in Plaquemines Parish, and residents can find their locations at www.ppso.net.
Two men arrested after chase through 7th Ward
New Orleans police on Friday afternoon arrested two men who led them on a chase through the 7th Ward, forcing a lockdown of St. Augustine High School. The names of the arrested men were not immediately available.
Officers say they believe the men had been involved with an armed robbery in City Park earlier in the day, police said. Information on where and when the robbery happened was not immediately available.
During the chase, the men ran into the area of the high school, leading administrators to lock down the campus as a precautionary measure. The men never made it onto the school’s property, police said.
The men were arrested after a search of the area.
2 booked on burglary counts in St. Charles
The following people were arrested Thursday in St. Charles Parish, the Sheriff’s Office said:
- Kyle Cowart, 25, of Raceland; two counts of simple burglary, theft under $500.
- Kimberly Spurgeon, 36, of Kenner; two counts of simple burglary, theft under $500.
