STOP THE KILLING: 9:30 a.m. to noon, First Alpine Baptist Church, 1855 Chestnut St. Arthur “Silky Slim” Reed will be the keynote speaker at the forum that will explore the root causes of teen violence in the community and provide resources to teenagers, parents, schools and other organizations that serve youth and their families. FAMILY FUN AND SAFETY FESTIVAL: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Baker Heritage Museum, 1606 Main St., Baker. The event will provide information on fire safety, vehicle, traffic, public safety, bicycle safety and Internet safety. Also, event includes pumpkin painting, a car seat and bicycle helmet giveaway and a hamburger lunch.
