LAFAYETTE — A J.W. Faulk Elementary School teacher has been placed on leave with pay as district officials investigate an allegation that one or more students glued themselves to their classroom seats, said Angela Morrison, Lafayette Parish Schools System community collaborations and partnerships director.
“Allegedly, some students or one student glued themselves to their chairs. It was in reaction to the (teacher) saying they needed to remain seated,” Morrison said. “We don’t think any child was hurt or anyone’s safety was threatened, but of course, we want to make sure our leaders in the classroom are being effective and supportive of our students.”
Morrison said further information on the incident would not be released until after the district’s investigation.
