LIVINGSTON — The state Department of Transportation and Development has begun a $1.6 million resurfacing project of La. 444 in Livingston Parish, stretching from La. 63 to Gum Swamp Road.
Crews will resurface about four miles of roadway, according to a DOTD news release.
Work is scheduled for completion in December.
The resurfacing is part of DOTD’s Quality Surface Program, a more than $425 million initiative that will resurface and repair about 1,100 miles of roadway across Louisiana, DOTD officials said.
Barriere Construction Co., of Boutte, will perform the work on La. 444.
DOTD asked drivers to use caution in the construction areas.
