East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said the man was seen on security cameras outside a Circle K on Evangeline Street at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday trying to use a debit card stolen from Ard’s Ford F-250. “As of now, the person of interest is not a suspect,” Hicks said. Ard was eating dinner with his family at Ruffino’s Friday when someone manipulated the keypad on the door of Ard’s personal pickup truck between 7:50 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., found a hidden key inside and drove off. Deputies found the truck in a parking lot on Baringer Court at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, but Ard’s service handgun and a purse containing a wallet with credit cards were missing.
