East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said the man was seen on security cameras outside a Circle K on Evangeline Street at about 4:45 a.m. Saturday trying to use a debit card stolen from Ard’s Ford F-250. “As of now, the person of interest is not a suspect,” Hicks said. She did not explain why the man had the debit card. Ard was eating dinner with his family at Ruffino’s Friday when someone manipulated the keypad on the door of Ard’s personal pickup truck between 7:50 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., found a hidden key inside and drove off. Deputies found the truck in a parking lot on Baringer Court at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, but Ard’s service handgun and a purse containing a wallet with credit cards were missing.
