OLOL unveils children’s health care program (video) OLOL unveils children’s health care program (video) Advocate story Aug. 23, 2013 Comments The Baton Rouge Children’s Health Project put on the “Blue Bus Bounce” Thursday to demonstrate the organization’s mobile health care program. Initially established to provide accessible health care services to children and teenagers affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the program has evolved into providing services for under-served children in the Greater Baton Rouge area. The program is provided through a partnership with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Health Fund. The Primary Care Mobile Medical Unit offers non-invasive medical care for nonemergency medical problems, prescriptions for some medical conditions, referrals to sub-specialist pediatric services, comprehensive physical exams, immunizations, laboratory testing, vision, hearing and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder screening, health education and assistance with registering for Medicaid/LaCHIP. Its Community Support and Resiliency Unit offers services related to behavioral health.
