ST. FRANCISVILLE — The West Feliciana Parish Economic Development Board will sponsor discussions Monday on recent oil exploration and production in the parish and the state’s process for certifying property for development.
Dennis Manshak, the parish’s economic development director, said the public is invited to attend the meeting, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the West Feliciana High School auditorium.
Manshak said Gifford Briggs, of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, will give an update on recent exploration and production activities in the Tuscaloosa marine shale formation.
Jim Cavanaugh, of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce, will discuss the procedures for getting land put on the Louisiana Economic Development’s list of sites certified as being immediately ready for development.
The auditorium is at the intersection of U.S. 61 and Bains Road north of St. Francisville.
