Eddie Robinson, 39, and June Robinson, 31, both of 1824 Terrace St., Baton Rouge, each were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Thursday on seven counts of child desertion and two counts of theft of utilities, according to affidavits of probable cause. Police responded to a 911 hang-up call at the residence around 9 a.m. and found seven children between 4 months and 10 years of age without adult supervision. About an hour later, Eddie and June Robinson returned to the residence. Eddie Robinson told police he and his wife left the children in the residence because he thought the couple’s vehicle was in such poor condition, it would be unsafe for the children to ride in it. June Robinson told police the children were asleep when she and Eddie Robinson left, and she didn’t want to wake them. Police also noticed that there was no meter pan at the home, and Eddie Robinson said he had paid an unknown person to turn on the utilities illegally. 5 booked with DWI into Parish Prison Authorities arrested at least five people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, booking records show.
