N.O. man survives multiple gunshots

New Orleans police said Friday that two men armed with handguns shot a 22-year-old man multiple times at Feliciana and Urquhart streets in the St. Claude neighborhood earlier this month.

The victim, whom police did not identify, was hit twice in the head and twice in the left hand but survived. He was listed in stable condition.

Police have issued arrest warrants in the case for Albert Hardy, 22, and Dontae James, 29. Both are accused of attempted second-degree murder.

Home search yields pot, pills, assault rifle

New Orleans narcotics officers searching a home at 8504 Palmetto St. on Wednesday turned up marijuana, prescription pills and an assault rifle with a 30-round magazine attached.

They confiscated 146.5 grams of marijuana, 56 prescription Xanax pills and an AIG 7.62 mm rifle with 30 live rounds in it.

Police charged Ashton Harris, 26, Kendall Wilson, 17, and Rebecca Motichek, 35, with narcotics and weapons possession.

Felon booked with possessing stolen gun

A convicted felon turned up with a stolen 9 mm pistol in the midst of a domestic dispute this week, according to New Orleans police.

The NOPD said a narcotics unit was flagged down on Tuesday on the 8200 block of Stroelitz Street for an alleged domestic aggravated assault and battery. Officers allegedly saw Ricky Wesley, 33, take the gun from his waistband and ditch it in a parked car. Police charged Wesley with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm.

Mandeville man, 24, killed in hit-and-run

A 24-year-old Mandeville man was struck and killed by a car in Bywater just before 5 a.m. this morning, New Orleans police said.

The car did not stop, and police have classified it as a hit-and-run.

The accident occurred at Music Street and St. Claude Avenue.
