The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging announced Tuesday that it will begin distributing fans through the Annual Fan & Air Conditioner Drive next week and has partnered with St. George Fire Protection District to use its locations as collection sites for donated fans and air-conditioner window units.
Only one fan or unit will be distributed per household. Recipients must be either a senior age 60 and above or disabled. An agency care manager will perform an assessment within the home for its residents to receive a unit.
The agency will distribute the donated fans and units at the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging’s main location, 5790 Florida Blvd., from 8:30 a.m. until noon Monday through July 12. When picking up a fan or unit, please have identification.
The agency is also accepting monetary donations in lieu of fan donations. For more information, visit www.ebrcoa.org or call (225) 923-8000.
