KENTWOOD — One of two burglary suspects was arrested, and a warrant will be issued for the other, after a Kentwood resident surprised the pair by being home Wednesday morning, authorities said.
A man and woman entered through the back of what they believed was an unoccupied residence on Winterfield Way around 8 a.m., Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said in a news release.
The homeowner, usually at work during that hour, surprised the pair and they fled, Panepinto said.
The homeowner was unable to identify the woman, but identified the man as Quincy Jackson Sr., 32, of Roseland.
Deputies searched the area and found Elmenia Patterson, 22, of Amite, hiding behind a nearby residence, Panepinto said. They were unable to locate Jackson.
Patterson was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a count each of burglary of an inhabited dwelling and possession of a burglary tool, Panepinto said. Jackson will be issued a warrant for burglary of an inhabited dwelling.
