The nine developers, working under the name DarkSeas Games, generated $160,000 through the crowdfunding website, said Jesse Hoggard, a spokesman for the Louisiana Technology Park on Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge. “Road Redemption” is a new version of the 1990s game “Road Rash.” “Road Rash” was a game for the Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation video game systems in which players raced motorcycles while fighting off other racers with fists, crowbars and nunchucks. Plans are to release “Road Redemption” by August 2014 as a digital download for the PC, Mac and Linux. A digital download for the WiiU platform and possibly the XBox Live Arcade will follow in a few months.
