The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Louisiana University and the Livingston Parish Library will host a social media planning seminar, “Time, Tools and Techniques for Your Social Media Plan,” from 9 a.m. to noon April 17 at the main branch of the Livingston Parish Library, 20390 Iowa St., Livingston.
The session will cover time management tools to inspire social media use in an effective, efficient way; the importance of analytics, how to read them and include them in social media planning; how social media includes email marketing; and constant contact reporting tools and social media integration tools.

Members of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Travelers Denham Springs Post 7017 are booking reservations on a tour bus headed to Mackinac Island in northern Michigan.

Chorale auditions set
Students in grades six through 11 can audition for the Livingston Parish Children’s Choir, a group that has toured Europe three times and the United States.
The chorale meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday nights at First Baptist Church, 308 N. River Road, Denham Springs.

Retired teacher’s trip
The Livingston Parish Retired Teachers will leave the Office Depot parking lot, 2360 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, at 9 a.m. Tuesday to tour the Old Governor’s Mansion, 502 North Blvd., Baton Rouge. The cost is $6 or $7, depending on the size of the group, organizers said. Lunch will follow at Capitol City Grill, 100 Lafayette St.
The Stars/Twinkles Talent show for current and former special education students in the Livingston Parish Public school system is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Walker Freshman High, 13443 Burgess Ave.
There is no charge for contestants to enter. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
