Southern University of New Orleans is set to open a satellite campus on New Orleans’ West Bank this fall.
SUNO Chancellor Victor Ukpolo said the new campus, at the L.B. Landry Education Complex in Algiers, will be part of a partnership between the university and the Algiers Charter School Association.
The pairing will make it easier for SUNO to reach out to nontraditional students.
The two parties will cement the agreement at a 10 a.m. ceremony on April 2 at the education complex located at 1200 L.B. Landry Avenue.
Ukpolo said the agreement will allow SUNO to offer a broad range of courses that students can apply toward earning a four-year degree.
Students attending the new L.B. Landry-O. Perry Walker College and Career Preparatory High School, and who meet SUNO’s requirements, will also be eligible to enroll in the program, the release says.
