Grant Civic Center in Plaquemine. The doors will open at 5 p.m. The silent auction will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and the live auction will start at approximately 8 p.m. More than 150 silent auction items and more than 50 live auction items will be available. Spring Fling Girl Scout Unit 144 in Port Allen will host its Spring Fling dance for girls in kindergarten through eighth grade and their fathers from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park pavilion in Plaquemine. Girls who are not members of the Girl Scouts are welcome to attend. Advance tickets are $5 per person and $6 per person at the door. Proceeds will support the Girl Scouts Louisiana East Council and its local programming. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their “Sunday best.” The event will feature music and food. Benefit concert The Centre for the Arts will host a benefit concert for Tesa’s Place in New Roads on Saturday featuring two special guest bands Teenage Lobotomy and K9-Love.
