BR man accused
of child desertion

Authorities have arrested a man accused of leaving his child and another child outside in front of their mother’s home after 11 p.m. while she was away at work.

Darryl Lejander, 36, 3238 Calumet Drive, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday with child desertion, prison records show.

The children’s mother arranged to have Lejander watch them at his home for the night because she had to work,
according to an affidavit warrant.

A little more than a hour after Lejander picked up the children, at 11:20 p.m., they were left alone outside their mother’s home, the warrant says.

The mother’s aunt, who was inside the home at the time, heard the children crying and found them, the warrant says.

Please change Kenny Reed's dwi arrest to 7th offense. Google search 'Kenny Reed' dwi baton rouge and see that he was arrested for his 6th offense in November of 2012.

I guess it is easy to relax a little when you live in that type of neighborhood. I catch myself not locking my door at night and not locking my vehicle either at times when at home. No telling how they got in, they may have hidden in the truck of one of the maids or yards boys vehicles. All I know is all you here is excuses about how people are being held back or held down by others. I wonder if anyone ever gives thought to Jessie Jackson's comment "nothing pains me more at this time of my life to be walking and hear footsteps and start thinking about being robbed only to turn around and feel relief that a white person is behind me".

I am curious how these suspects got into the CCL? I thought it was gated and guarded. And if they didn't have a car, Ignoring the color of their skin, people walking the streets from house to house didn't look suspicious? And if they went to Orleans to use the card, chances are they were not local thugs. And I don't care where I live or my car is parked, that thing is locked if I am not in it. And who leaves valuables in their cars anymore?? Not saying they deserved it, but still, leaving credit cards in an unlocked car? Makes you wonder who the dumb ones are here.

As I have said before this "cancer" is spreading into the good areas of town. To bad if the cops stopped and asked the thugs what they are doing in the CCL, the black community would be outraged and accuse whoever is asking why they are profiling! You wonder why people don't want these bad actors moving into their neighbor hoods. This is why! Before long property values drop, businesses shutdown and the once nice, clean thriving area looks like, smells like and has the crime rate of the getto! This is a prime example of the ever lingering issue and cause of prejudice.

Kudos to The Advocate for keeping the CCL article online even after someone from this neighborhood attempted to bully the EBRSO into telling every news outlet to remove the CCL name from the article.

if victims would start killing these thugs, whatever area that does that will become crime free fast.

The Country Club of Louisiana...Wow. Well Baton Rouge, it's official: There is NOWHERE left to run. Not one single area, nook, cranny, or gated community on Highland Road, no matter how much you spend on your house, where you can go to escape the black plague.
