Former and current cancer patients, those who have lost a loved one to cancer, families, businesses, faith-based and civic organizations, and anyone wanting to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to take part in the team event, said Casey Walker, the volunteer chairwoman of the Ascension Parish event. Relay For Life takes place from 3 p.m. April 20 until 3 a.m. April 21. The money raised through the event supports the American Cancer Society’s research and program efforts, Walker said. Among them, Team Re/Max Plus is having a garage and jambalaya sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 16581 U.S. 61, Prairieville, she said.
