A Kinder man died Saturday from injuries he received in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 190 West, a State Police spokesman said.
Troopers said Dwayne Griffin, 26, was headed west on U.S. 190 in his 2004 Chevrolet pickup at 7:54 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the centerline and struck a Dodge pickup driven by Rogelio Rico, 32, of Elton, and a Lincoln sport utility vehicle driven by Isidro Mendoza, 23, of Ville Platte, Trooper First Class Stephen Hammons said in a news release.
Griffin was not wearing a seat belt and died at a hospital, Hammons said.
Rico, a passenger in his truck and Mendoza were all wearing seat belts and received minor injuries, Hammons said.
Troopers are unsure whether impairment played a role in the accident and have submitted toxicology samples to the state Crime Lab for analysis, Hammons said.
The accident is still under investigation, Hammons said.
