Police seek 2 in robbery

Police searched on Friday for two men alleged to have robbed a 77-year-old man at his home Monday.

The robbery victim had left a LeBlanc’s grocery store after cashing a $600 check, but when he got out of his vehicle and started walking to his residence, two men confronted him, knocked him down and stole his cash, Gonzales Police Sgt. Steven Nethken said in a news release.

The robbers then fled the residence in a newer-model Nissan Altima, Nethken said. Authorities believe the car is metallic blue, he said.

One of the fugitives was spotted by LeBlanc’s video surveillance system wearing a light blue-collared shirt that appeared to be embroidered on the left side of the chest area.

The second fugitive captured on video in LeBlanc’s was wearing a black shirt with khaki pants and a black cap with gold trim, Nethken said.

Anyone with information on the identities of the two men or their whereabouts is asked to call the Gonzales Police Department at (225) 647-9572.
