Two men charged
in armed robbery

Baton Rouge police Monday arrested two men hours after they allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint.

Adrien Levine, 8260 Skysail Avenue, and Jonathan White, 8262 Skysail Ave., were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison early Tuesday on counts of armed robbery, prison officials said.

The men, both 18, allegedly confronted the victim at 6 p.m. Monday at 8235 Skysail Ave. as he was picking up some rented furniture from a customer, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Levine and White challenged the victim to a fight, took out a .25-caliber pistol and ordered the victim to hand over his cellphone and wallet, the affidavit says.

A sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspects at 9:20 p.m. at Bluebonnet Boulevard and Burbank Drive and followed them to White’s residence, where he stopped and detained them, the affidavit says.

While frisking the suspects, the affidavit says, the deputy found the victim’s debit card and a credit card on Levine.

Detectives are still trying to determine where the shooting happened, Stubbs said.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment, Stubbs said.

So what punishment should be meted out to an attorney who steals almost $500,000 from his employer, or a businessman who helps swindle investors out of $7 billion or a builder who bilks his clients for hundreds of thousands of dollars? Should they be dealt with harshly or just get a slap on the wrist? These incidents were reported by the Advocate as well.

I agree also, foldgers, our court system sucks with all the slaps on the wrists and plea bargaining going on.

Couldn't agree for foldgers. Penalties has to become excessive, I mean nothing else seems to work.

"Two men charged in armed robbery:" - - According to my plan, these two men, since no shots were fired and no one hurt/killed, would get an automatic 15 year sentence. I guarantee that if thugs knew they would trade 15 years of their life just for a cell phone and a wallet, they would not be using guns. Same goes for the armed robbery suspects still at large... 15 years guaranteed. No paroles, nothing. 15 years! Heck, make it 20, I just threw a number I felt would make someone think VERY hard about using a gun in any crime.

trying to determine where the shooting occured. doesn't the "victim" know where he was shot? he doesn't want to cooperate? don't treat him, put him back on the street where he belongs.
