Rogers named to LIDEA panel
Livingston Economic Development Council President and CEO Randy Rogers has been named to the board of directors of the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association.
LIDEA is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to creating new job opportunities by encouraging companies to locate in Louisiana as well as assisting local industries to expand. Membership is open to professional and volunteers or groups seeking to promote the economic health and vitality of Louisiana.
Rogers has served as the CEO of the Livingston Economic Development Council since May 2011.
CAA offers assistance
Quad Area Community Action Agency Inc. plans to assist eligible low-income households in Livingston Parish with their energy payments.
Starting Monday, appointments will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, organizers said. Applicants coming to the office without an appointment will be scheduled for an appointment and instructed to return on their appointment date, organizers said.
Income-eligible applicants who have received a disconnect notice and who have not received assistance for a disconnect notice in the past 12 months may also apply.

The Livingston Parish Library is conducting a program for people who want to learn about starting genealogical research — the resources, types of documents needed and how to keep the information organized, library officials said.
The program will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Denham Springs-Walker Library, or 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Watson Library.

WOW support group
Women Outreaching Women will hold a support group at 6 p.m. Tuesday and at 10 a.m. Feb. 19 in Denham Springs.
The meeting is open to women involved in domestic violence and/or survivors of domestic violence, WOW officials said. RSVP for childcare.

Tickfaw boat parade
The Krewe of Tickfaw Mardi Gras boat parade will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 with “Shelby” from the Swamp People as the parade King.
The parade will start at Shelly O’Neal Estates Part 2 and float to Warsaw Marina, King’s Point and end at Tickfaw Boopalu’s where prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.
Entries are being accepted at Boopalu’s and Warsaw Marina.
