Edwin Edwards to lead Houma parade

Former Gov. Edwin Edwards will be the grand marshal when the Krewe of Hercules parades at 6 p.m. Friday, kicking off the Carnival season in Houma.

Houma native and retired New York Giants football player Brandon Jacobs also will ride in the parade.

The krewe’s theme is “Hercules Celebrates Louisiana Bicentennial.”

The all-male krewe will have 32 double-decker floats.

You boys need to get over yourselves. Your boy l'il booby walks the streets. Edwin in his wildest days would never had put the lives of poor people in danger like pakistani boy is doing. People, he was convicted of extorting money from a low life like Robert Guidry. If you don't know who Guidry is consider yourself lucky. You wouldn't trust him with a five dollar bill. Your "hatred" for the man is rooted in ignorance. We can get over the "problems" u think Edwards created but it's going to take forever to correct L'il boobys mess ups. Grow up!

The disgrace is not as much Edwards but the people who continue to HONOR this guy who is an ex-con with very poor morals (that he actually brags about) and a convicted felony. Do you realize there are more people honoring this guy in this state than many humans who have sacrificed their lives for this country. The people who continue to honor such a person are really showing the true nature of many people in this state and it is not anything to be proud of, it is pathetic. Demagogues are demagogues and we are sending our kids the wrong message by honoring them. Forgiveness is one thing, honoring a person like Edwards is another thing altogether. Maybe it will make national news and we can really show the world what Louisiana is all about.

You don't have to look very far to see what is wrong with our country when you see someone like Edwards being 'honored'. It is one thing to forgive someone but to 'honor' him, give me a break. The people supporting this sort of thing need to quit blaming the politicians, etc. for all the problems in this country, they only have to in the mirror. The sad part is there are enough pathetic people with such low regard for themselves, the society and their children that they would readily elect someone like this to an office today. Maybe we ought to really do it right and change the name of the state from Louisiana to Edwards and change the name of the capitol to Edwardsville.

What was Edwin convicted of? I forget!

David Vitter isn't a convicted felon, so I don't think he will qualify. But he can bring up the rear of the parade. That's where he always is anyway, even in the senate.

Next year they should get David Vitter. The theme could be: "Tales from the Madam's Address Book." What do you think?

This is why Louisiana will always be last in everything good and first in everything bad. The rednecks and liberals think of Edwards, and others like him, as a god. A convicted felon as grand marshal .... go figure. Next year maybe we can get a school shooter.

edwards, a convict, is the grand marshal of a madi gras parade and probably has the hight politicial rating in the state. bill clinton who received BJ's from a young intern in the WH and then lied when he was caught. probably has the highest politicial rating in the USA. where are honest God loving people going wrong?

Mommy who's that old man on the float up there? Oh honey that's just a convicted felon who is the Grand Marshal of the parade! So, mommy, i can be convicted of a felon and still be the grand marshal of a mardi gras parade? That's great! What other cool things can I do when I get out of jail?
