GONZALES — Sheriff’s detectives arrested four Ascension Parish residents following a week-long investigation into a heroin distribution ring, the Ascension Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.
Detectives who searched the Gonzales residence of Craig Encalade Jr. on Wednesday discovered heroin and marijuana that were packaged for sale, Maj. Kevin Hanna said in a news release. Detectives also seized prescription pills, a loaded handgun and drug paraphernalia.
Encalade, 27, of 2704 S. Remy Robert Road, was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on several counts of drug possession and distribution, as well as illegal carrying of a weapon.
