BR man, 31, indicted in rape of child, 9

A 31-year-old Baton Rouge man was indicted Thursday in the rape of a 9-year-old child last year.

An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged Clayton Lundy, 3034 Shelly St., with aggravated rape in the Sept. 30 incident.

The child is now 10, according to the indictment.

An aggravated rape conviction would carry a mandatory sentence of life in prison.

Lundy’s case has been assigned to state District Judge Don Johnson.

Before my comment, this is horrible! This guy needs a one way pass to Angola for the rest of his life, I agree! BUT, seriously, if convicted it is an automatic life sentence? Don't get me wrong, I believe it is the true and correct sentence for this man, BUT what about a guy who drives drunk, gets in a wreck and someone dies. He will be out of jail in a couple of years? Or you attempt to murder someone with a gun and you are out probably in less time??? All three of these should carry mandatory life sentences. If they would be that strict on criminals with guns, there would be a lot less criminals with guns. A lot less shooting. You attempt to take the life of someone, whether you succeed or not, life in prison!!!

Totally disgusted and outraged. If convicted I hope he enjoys his stay at the Angola happy house. And is reminded daily of the definition of rape by his fellow cell mates.
