Gonzales councilman cited in alleged theft of utility services

Police issued Gonzales City Councilman Timothy Vessel a misdemeanor summons Dec. 17 for theft of utility services, Police Chief Sherman Jackson said Wednesday.

Vessel declined comment Wednesday night, referring any questions on the incident to his attorney, but declined to identify his attorney.

Police cited Vessel, who was among council members sworn in for new four-year terms Wednesday, with the violation after he allegedly ran an extension cord from a vacant mobile home in a trailer park to his nearby residence, Jackson said.

After Vesta Trailer Park’s manager notified police Nov. 30 that an extension cord had been spotted running from the unused trailer to Vessel’s house, officers asked Vessel to unplug it, Jackson said.

Vessel’s court date is set for March 6, Jackson said.

First off, I will give Councilman Vessel the benefit of the doubt. However,if found guilty of the charge listed above,I believe he should step down as a representative of the good folks of Gonzales.Only a moron would commit such a petty act like that.Further more who would want a cheap moron like that to sit on the city council of their town.Citizens of Gonzales if he is convicted you should run his cheap, petty azz out of town!!!!What the hell is this world coming to?
