Police and fire briefs for Dec. 21, 2012 Police and fire briefs for Dec. 21, 2012 Advocate story Dec. 21, 2012 Comments BR teen, 17, arrested after building shot East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 17-year-old boy Wednesday night who is accused of firing shots at a group of people outside a residence on GSRI Avenue on Monday, with the bullets entering the dwelling and barely missing two of the occupants, an affidavit of probable cause says. Deputies booked Joshua J. Richard, 1404 Jasper Ave., Apt. D, Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count each of illegal carrying of a weapon, illegal use of a weapon and criminal damage to property amount more than $500. On Monday, Richard and another person in a group with which Richard had been feuding exchanged words while walking past each other on GSRI Avenue, the affidavit said. Richard and a member of the other group each brandished weapons and fired shots in the other’s direction, the affidavit says. Police were able to determine Richard fired the shots that entered a house on GSRI Avenue and struck a headboard near one woman’s head and a dresser in another bedroom where a second woman was sitting, the affidavit says. Police seek BR man in robbery homicide Baton Rouge police were searching Thursday for a 21-year-old Baton Rouge man in the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man during an armed robbery on Aug. 6, a police spokesman said. Jerron Nicholas Davis, 2001 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., is wanted in connection with the shooting of Travis Holland that occurred at about 11 p.m. Aug. 6 at 3235 Wyoming St., L’Jean McKneely said in a news release. Holland was shot as he stood in the front yard of his apartment, McKneely said. A 16-year-old boy was arrested shortly after the shooting and has been charged with first-degree murder, McKneely said. Drug suspect held after traffic accident State Police arrested a 36-year-old Ponchatoula man for the creation/operation of a drug lab after seeing pills and methamphetamine spill out of his car after an accident on La. 64, near La. 409, an affidavit of probable cause says. Troopers booked Michael Gillingham, 12063 Carriage House Lane, into Parish Prison on Wednesday afternoon on one count each of creation/operation of a drug lab, possession of ephedrine products, distribution/manufacturing of Schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless operation. Denham Springs man held on porn count A Denham Springs man accused of sharing child pornography on the Internet was caught in an undercover operation by the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies booked Kevin Wayne Bercegeay, 41, of 11382 Windsor Ave., into Parish Prison on Wednesday afternoon on one count of pornography involving juveniles. On Oct. 7, an undercover officer with the High Technology Crime Unit found an IP address that had images suggestive of child pornography, the affidavit says. Upon submitting a signed subpeona to Cox Communications, the officer learned the address belonged to Bercegeay, the affidavit says. On Dec. 13, the officer found a hard drive containing more than 100 movies and images containing child pornography during a search of Bercegeay’s house, the affidavit says. 6 booked with DWIin EBR Parish Prison Authorities arrested at least six people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.
