Albany man booked on burglary counts
ALBANY — A traffic stop led to the arrest of an Albany-area man on eight counts of alleged burglary, Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said.
On Dec. 12, while patroling in eastern Livingston Parish, members of the Sheriff’s Office Burglary Division and Uniform Patrol made a traffic stop on Ian Martin, 28, 27260 James King Road, Ard said in a news release Tuesday.
During the traffic stop, investigators noticed numerous suspicious items in the vehicle that investigators were able to link to area burglaries, including one that occurred only a short time before the traffic stop, Ard said.
Martin was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on eight counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and one count of illegal possession of a stolen firearm, Ard said. His bail was set at $500,000.
Investigators are working to link recovered property to burglary victims, which could result in further arrests or counts, Ard said.
