LSU will celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah during the annual Candlelight Celebration to be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Claude L. Shaver Theatre in the Music and Dramatic Arts building.
The lighting of the LSU Christmas tree will follow at 6 p.m. in front of the Memorial Tower.
The public is invited to join the Tiger Girls, LSU cheerleaders, singers, dancers and musicians during the event.
Guests are encouraged to help children in need by donating new or gently used children’s coats in the boxes located around the Christmas tree during the Candlelight Celebration.
Coats will be accepted near the tree or at the Volunteer LSU office in Room 350 inside the LSU Student Union.
The African-American Cultural Center’s Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration will be held at 6 p.m. in the LSU Student Union Atchafalaya Room.
LSU will celebrate Hanukkah during the Candlelight Celebration with a performance by Hillel at LSU.
Following the celebration, students, faculty and staff, their spouses and children are all invited to attend the Holiday on Campus event at the University Recreation Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where guests can enjoy holiday music, refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus.
