Police arrest 4
in armed robbery

New Orleans police said they arrested four Baton Rouge residents in an early Sunday armed robbery in the French Quarter.

As the victims tried to hail a cab at the corner of Dauphine and Ursulines streets about midnight, a man stopped to ask them for directions, police said.

Soon after, a second man, approached the victims and pointed a handgun at them, demanding they “give him everything they had,” police said.

The robbers took one of the victim’s wallets and escaped in a silver vehicle, police said.

An officer spotted the car on Decatur Street, pulled it over without incident and found four men in the car along with the handgun used in the robbery and another firearm, police said.

Joshua Turner, 21, of Baton Rouge, was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison one count of armed robbery and two counts of attempted armed robbery, police said.

Marcus Fontenot, 18; Alexis Lunas, 23, and Corinthian Robertson, 22, all of Baton Rouge, were booked on a count of principal to armed robbery, police said.
