Dead man, 25, found inside car, police say

A 25-year-old man was found dead inside his car in the Lower 9th Ward on Thanksgiving Day, police said.

Police said they discovered the unidentified man’s body shortly before 9 a.m. in the 6400 block of Marais Street.

The victim was sitting in a vehicle and had been shot multiple times. Police also recovered a weapon.

Lakeview woman reported missing

New Orleans police said they are searching for a Lakeview woman who has been missing since Tuesday.

Lauren Stahler, 32, was last seen around 9 p.m. leaving the home she shared with her mother in the 900 block of Hidalgo Street, police said. Her mother told police she has had no contact with her since that point.

Stahler is a white woman about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds, police said.

She has long brown hair, was last seen wearing a gray shirt and has tattoos on her left arm and right ankle.

Kenner man accused
of molesting child

A 52-year-old Kenner man was arrested on Tuesday after police said he molested a 10-year-old girl about eight years ago.

Rolando Marroquin was booked on counts of sexual battery, indecent behavior with a juvenile and molestation of a juvenile. He remains in custody at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.

According to an arrest report, Marroquin fondled and kissed the girl numerous times at this home.

The young woman recently confronted him at a Kenner store, and the disturbance drew the attention of police. The woman later told police that the molestation was the reason behind her reaction. Marroquin only admitted to kissing the woman when she was a child, the report said.

Ex-worker disrupts Thanksgiving party

A former employee broke up a Thanksgiving party on Wednesday after police said he attacked two of the attendees.

Hoa Tran, 43, was booked with two counts of simple batter and aggravated assault by Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies. According to an arrest report, Tran showed up at an unidentified company’s Thanksgiving party despite no longer working for the company.

The report states that Tran then got into an argument with one man and punched him. He later punched another man.

Tran then left the party, retrieved two hammers and came back to seek revenge, the report says.

He was taken into custody without incident.

Two men arrested for Gretna shooting

Two Harvey men have been booked with aggravated assault after police said they committed a drive-by shooting in Gretna last month.

Tyronne Jones, 17, and Robert Jenkins were both booked with aggravated assault by drive-by shooting.

They were arrested on warrants issued by the Gretna Police Department on Wednesday, but no other information was immediately available on the incident.
