Thanksgiving schedules announced

City-parish, state and federal courts and offices are closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s Office is closed Thursday and Friday.

Post offices are closed Thursday and open Friday.

CATS buses will not run and the office will be closed Thursday but buses will run on a normal schedule Friday.

Garbage and recyclables will be collected Thursday. The North Landfill will be closed on Thursday but will be open on Friday.

The East Baton Rouge Parish School district offices are closed during the week of Nov. 19. The district’s central office will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Public libraries are closed Thursday, but will be open as usual on Friday.

LSU, Southern University and Baton Rouge Community College offices are closed Thursday and Friday.

Most banks will be closed Thursday but open Friday.

The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge administrative office will be closed Thursday and Friday.

BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo, Magnolia Mound Plantation, Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, Perkins Road Extreme Park and all BREC golf courses will close on Thursday and reopen during normal operating hours on Friday.

All BREC tennis centers will be closed Thursday and all centers except the Greenwood Community Park Tennis Center will reopen at 1 p.m. Friday.

BREC will close all recreation centers and special facilities including Cohn Arboretum, the Baton Rouge Gallery, Farr Park Equestrian Center, Highland Road Park Observatory and Independence Park Theatre on Thursday and Friday.

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries’ Waddill Outdoor Education Center will be closed starting Thursday and will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
