Homestead exemption or any other special assessment should have been noted on a letter that the Assessor’s Office sent in July or Auguust, according to the Assessor’s Office. To file for an exemption, a property owner must appear in person at the assessor’s east or West Bank offices: 1300 Perdido St. Fourth Floor, or the Algiers Courthouse, 225 Morgan Street.
