Zachary teen indicted in rape of girl, 11

An 18-year-old Zachary man was indicted Thursday in the June rape of an 11-year-old girl.

An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged Iren Khari Fields, 5044 Rollins Road, with aggravated rape.

Fields, who was 17 at the time of the alleged incident, could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted as charged.

Fields is accused of raping the girl after an Internet contact, Zachary police Chief David McDavid said.

The case is assigned to District Judge Don Johnson.

"Fields is accused of raping the girl after an Internet contact, Zachary police Chief David McDavid said." WHERE are the parents? Allowing an 11 year old unlimited access to the internet and apparently no restrictions as to what sites she could go to. WOW, just plain WOW. WAKE up people and be parents to your children, know what they are doing and with who. Monitor ALL internet activity and better yet do your job as a parent and restrict their access and be more involved in what they are doing not only online but in REAL life. I feel the parents here are just as much to blame as the rapist and that the Judge should impose some sort of sentence on the parents as well - parenting classes would be a start.
