Man, 18, booked on count of forcible rape

An 18-year-old man accused in the rape of a 20-year-old woman in her Baton Rouge home was arrested Tuesday and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, an affidavit of probable cause says.

The incident occurred early Tuesday after Kevin Harvey woke up his victim and forced her to have sex with him, the affidavit says. The victim was able to escape Harvey and call authorities.

Harvey was booked on a count of forcible rape, according to the document.

Three sought in use
of fake credit card

Baton Rouge police are attempting to identify three men accused of using a person’s credit card information July 11 and 12 to buy items at a Home Depot on Airline Highway, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

The three men obtained the victim’s credit card number and used it to create a fake credit card, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.

The three men walked into the Home Depot at 8181 Airline Highway with the fake card and purchased an unknown amount of merchandise, McKneely said.

Apartment fire displaces family of 6

An apartment on Toulon Drive was destroyed by fire Wednesday morning, leaving a family of six without a home, a spokesman with the St. George Fire Protection District said.

Firefighters with St. George and the Baton Rouge Fire Department received a call about the blaze at 3126 Toulon Drive just after 9 a.m., Eldon Ledoux said. The fire was extinguished before 9:30 a.m., he said.

No one was injured. A neighboring unit was damaged by smoke and water, Ledoux said.

The Red Cross was called to help the family displaced by the fire, which was cause by a kitchen appliance, Ledoux said.

17-year-olds booked in beating, robbery

Baton Rouge police arrested two 17-year-old girls Sunday in the beating and robbery of a juvenile girl who was struck in the head with sticks at 3004 Chippewa St., according to affidavits of probable cause.

Tiquenia Johnson and Megan Adams attacked the victim from behind with the sticks, cutting the victim’s lips, the affidavits say.

Johnson and Adams took the victim’s purse and cellphone, the affidavits say.

The teens, who are both of 3049 Iroquois St., were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison with one count each of armed robbery.

Two people booked
on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

Crystal Heard, 39, 2503 Jefferson Ave., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle, driving over a median and driver’s license suspended or revoked.

Priscilla Langlois, 31, 4287 N. Maiden Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and disobeying a red light.
