CLINTON — Water supplied by the town of Clinton is safe to drink or use in preparing food without boiling it, town utility maintenance supervisor Russ Hicks said Tuesday.
Hicks said the water boiling advisory issued Friday was lifted at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
A contractor installing fiber optic cable broke an 8-inch water main Friday, forcing the town’s utility crew to lower pressure in the system to repair the leak, Hicks said.
The lowered pressure created a question about the water’s microbiological quality.
The state Office of Public Health notified the town Tuesday that samples submitted for testing showed the water is safe for consumption, Hicks said.
